The Board (Management Group) of the club is recommending to members to approve some changes to the club’s Constitution and Regulations at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in November 2026.
The changes have been prompted by recommendations from FNSW for clubs to improve their compliance with the NSW Incorporated Associations Act (2009). The Board has used this as an opportunity to also recommend several updates we feel are necessary.
Changes will be proposed to the Constitution and to the Regulations. The changes are:
- Alignment with a model constitution template provided by FNSW
(to comply with the NSW Incorporated Associations Act (2009)) - Reducing the maximum number of Directors from thirteen (13) to nine (9)
(a more realistic level of our ability to recruit directors; and more consistently have a quorum) - Establish tighter controls over the use of the club’s financial reserves
(to strengthen the need for broad consultation and consensus in the running of the club) - Other minor changes to support good governance
(to remove legacies of our old 2004 constitution which no longer reflect good practice)
The existing Constitution and Regulations can be found on the club website under Our Club / Club Documents / Constitution & Regulations.
Following are the proposed new versions of each of the documents:
- Constitution (final version – no markup)
- Constitution (with all changes highlighted and markup)
- Regulation Part I – Titles & Roles
- Regulation Part II – Elections & Voting
- FNSW template constitution
Please contact the club Secretary if you have any questions or concerns regarding these proposed changes.
