$500,000 Sports Facility will revive Seaforth Oval
as centre for community recreation.

A half-million dollar Plan of Management has been approved by Manly Council.

The Mayor of Manly, Dr Peter Macdonald, announced that Manly Council in partnership with the Manly Warringah Sporting Union, Seaforth Soccer and the NSW Department of Tourism Sport and Recreation are to contribute more than $500,000 dollars for the first stage of the Plan of Management for Seaforth Oval to be implemented.

The new sports centre will be home to Seaforth Soccer, with 1500 participants during the winter season, cricket in summer, and classes for yoga, Pilates, playgroups, community meetings, and walking groups.

The facility will be available to the general public for hire. The modern two story facility will incorporate male and female change rooms, accessible amenities, a canteen, first aid room, and meeting/function rooms with covered viewing areas for sporting and social events.

The program of works at Seaforth Oval under the Plan of Management will in the future include a playground, walking track to Bantry Bay, expanded parking, and safe cycle access and storage.
